CKC and Subaru Canada, Inc. Congratulate Subaru Agility Team Canada on a Superb Performance at Agility European Open 2016

Subaru Agility Team Canada (SATC) represented Canada at the Agility European Open (EO) 2016, showcasing their great skill and speed. SATC competed in both the team and individual events and performed well despite fierce competition and extremely fast and technically difficult courses. The EO is one of the most significant agility competitions in the world, attracting 800 human/dog teams from 35 countries all striving for excellence in their events.

For the first time since Canada has been represented at EO, SATC qualified for the finals in the team competition. Wifi/Theresa Rector, Summit/Justine Davenport, Pixie/Julie Lizotte and Swagger/Susan Garrett ranked sixth overall heading into the finals and after finals were ninth out of 104 teams.

"Everyone at CKC was thrilled by the tremendous showing from the team at EO this year," said Lance Novak, CKC Executive Director. "We are so pleased to work with Subaru in support of this level of excellence!"

In the individual events, SATC's Wifi/Theresa Rector and Summit/Justine Davenport did so well in the large dog category, they qualified straight to the finals. They were both in the top 30 out of 400 human/dog teams heading into the finals. Alex Beitl from Germany judged the finals in this event and challenged competitors with a very difficult course. Although Canada's teams didn't place in the finals, they gained valuable experience and look forward to applying it to their next competition.

In the small dog category, Jazz/Ann Carrington finished fourteenth and in the medium dog category Jazz/Meghan Turton competed for their very first time at the EO, showing calm confidence and focus throughout the event.

"Congratulations to all who competed and achieved such impressive results at EO this year," said Joe Felstein, Subaru's Director of Marketing. "Subaru Canada is proud to support the team and be part of their success."

The atmosphere at this year's EO was warm and supportive. Thank you to Team Leader, Linda Barton and Coach, Dante Camacho, for preparing and helping Subaru Agility Team Canada realize their achievements at EO this year.

The Team owes a very special thank you to Subaru Canada, Inc. for their incredibly generous support. Together, Subaru Canada and Subaru Agility Team Canada are transcending the limits of what this team can achieve.

Please join the Canadian Kennel Club and Subaru Canada in congratulating Subaru Agility Team Canada on their tremendous accomplishments at EO 2016!
